I’m trying out that word – ‘prepositioning’ – it sounds so military. You put your equipment in place where you think you’ll need it in the future.
I was shorthanded this weekend, but it worked out well. Molly had to stay behind to do something for work on Sunday. So, Chief Petty Officer Camille and Dinghy Captain Daniel helped to round out the crew. We sailed and motor sailed to Port Townsend for Saturday, then on to Skyline Marina in Anacortes for the final destination. The point of it all was to get the boat closer to the San Juan and Gulf Islands for our respective summer cruises.
My hope is to get to Canada relatively quickly this year and spend some time revisiting our favorite places there – Winter Cove, Silva Bay, Wallace Island, Bedwell Harbour, etc.
Keith and Kathy will take their girls with Ann and Rene and their girls on a four day adventure next weekend (8 in all!). Then we climb aboard for 11 days the same week.
My crew were champs this weekend. They were helpful and had fun (mostly) on the long trip. I was happy to have them along.
