I am beginning to loathe boat repair. When you buy a 23 year old boat with lots of deferred maintenance, I guess you have to expect problems. If we were rich, we could just throw money at them. Sadly, we are not.

After returning the boat to the saltchuck last Thursday, the engine would not start. The cause – water and algae in the diesel tank.

The most cost effective solution turns out to be replacing the tank, hoses, and water separator. Behold the lovely new tank Catalina had sitting on a shelf in California.
