Camille is such a performer. That’s why she gets more video posts than Daniel. She’s very competitive, outgoing, extroverted, and energetic about life. She decided to take a hip hop dance class this summer. Here is the result.

More house history discovered – digging up history in Ballard
August 30th, 2009 · No Comments
As I remodel and repair the house, I discover more about it. My current understanding is that the front part of this house stood on this lot in 1892 (it was shown on the Sanford Fire Insurance maps of that date), but likely was constructed on this lot in the previous decade. When remodeling the [...]
Camille throws a party (for no particular reason)
August 27th, 2009 · No Comments
Bored one day while stuck in my office for half a day, my active little girl Camille decided to create invitations to a party. The party had no reason or theme, other than to get her two closest friends over for a play date. Both Kasey and Lucy accepted. It was planned for a Thursday, [...]

end of summer vacation
August 23rd, 2009 · No Comments
Here is the last of the vacation photos. For the last three nights we stayed at Spencer Spit, Port Townsend, and Port Ludlow. At Spencer Spit, Molly and Camille walked (again) to Horse Drawn Farm to get some more veggies and meat. All essentially organic and free range, of course. At Port Townsend, we had [...]
Parks Bay, “Banana Island”, and Sucia Island
August 18th, 2009 · 1 Comment
After leaving Fisherman Bay, we headed NW toward Stuart Island to get to Daniel’s second requested destination – “Banana Island” (really called Gossip Island and located at the mouth of Reid Harbor on Stuart Island). But first, a video about a kelp horn. and another video about pretending to be pirates rescued from “Banana Island”.
Roche Harbor – where money flies out of your wallet

We stopped here to fill the water and fuel tanks and reprovision a bit. Poof – $150 was gone in a blink without buying prepared food. My shower, at $2.50 was the least expensive item. It’s an opulent place with lots of very fancy boats and places to buy expensive gifts and food.
Port Townsend and Lopez Island
August 16th, 2009 · No Comments
For our second and third nights, we made it to Port Townsend and Fisherman Bay on Lopez Island. Recently, we bought half and pig and half a lamb from Horse Drawn Farm on Lopez. We wanted to see the farm, so we walked there.

Camille enjoys that favorite of pastimes – riding in the dinghy.
Edmonds – the first day of vacation
August 14th, 2009 · No Comments
We didn’t make it far on our first vacation day – just to Edmonds. That was, in large measure, because Mike Straub of Freestyle Canvas said he’d meet us there to finally install our dodger. I was quite worried that he wouldn’t follow through, but I didn’t want to let my wife get cold. Did [...]
New dodger
August 14th, 2009 · No Comments
The new dodger is on. My hopes were beginning to fade when Mike Straub of Freestyle Canvas and Awning finally showed up. He was at least ninety minutes late off his latest ETA. He fussed with the fit for several hours, but the dodger is finally on. Yeah! My enthusiasm is muted by all of [...]
