Use chicken wings and set your pots off Magnolia Bluff. I stuffed both bait boxes with chicken wings on Thursday and dropped the crab pots. I set one in 40 feet of water and the second deeper – perhaps 70 feet. They were a quarter mile apart and pretty distant from the marina and I [...]

Sailing with Sarah’s Family
July 23rd, 2009 · No Comments
We invited Sarah, Camille’s aerial partner and friend, and her family out for a sail. It was a lovely evening, not much wind, but the sun made an appearance and we all enjoyed our time together. The concept was to have Sarah and Sarah’s mom, Diana, meet us at the boat and Daniel, Camille, and [...]
How to catch a geoduck

Wandering along the beach we discovered an Asian family digging for geoducks. Following their guidance and help, the kids dug up close to 10 geoducks. We kept 3. They’re not the giant variety.

Fourth of July Two Family Sail

We scheduled a red (crab), white (a few cirrus clouds), and blue (sea) Independence Day sail and grill fest with K&K. I was surprised at the connections between the kids in each family. Daniel and Fiona hit it off, while Camille and Moira bonded. Camille even tried (both valiantly and unsuccessfully) to put Moira to sleep [...]
Meet Violet

Camille’s good friend Lucy had a birthday. I suggested that she could create a stuffed animal/person for it. She raced upstairs and got to work – planning, cutting, sewing, stuffing, amending, etc. It was announced that her name is Violet. DSC05352
