A very kind Salvadorian named Francisco Castillo befriended us. We met him on the beach at Los Cobanos within 30 minutes of our arrival. He offered to show us his vacation home in a nearby gated community. It had a private beach club attached which he also showed us. The kids swam in a large pool while Molly and I had a beer with Francisco.

The following day he came to pick us up at 10 and we spent the bulk of the day with him, his wife Mari Carmen and another couple with baby. It was lovely to be at a nice pool with good service and enough shade for the adults. Their is an adjacent beach with volcanic rock. Dan explores this at low tide while Camille frolics in the sand.

Francisco and the others gave us many good recommendations about where to go and what to see. As a result of this advice and the dirtiness and crowding here at Los Cobanos near our hotel, we will likely head for the mountains earlier than planned.
